The best way I know to learn something is to build with it. These projects started as a way to get hands-on with APIs — eBird, Strava, TripIt — connecting them with Claude and Cursor to make personal dashboards that were actually useful to me. Less noise than a social app, more signal than a spreadsheet.
fieldnotes.design took that same instinct further. It started as a learning project and became something I actually needed: a way to stop watching hard-won organizational knowledge walk out the door.
